Living in the Los Angeles area exposes you to a lot of live Electro DJ’s and Artists.

There has been a huge response from scene lately.
Thanks to the huge success of great artists like Franki Chan (IHEARTCOMIX), L.A. Riots, Steve Aoki (DIM MAK), DJ AM and Acid Girls, and Villains Los Angeles has been able to hold its own in the World Electro Scene along with South America, Europe, and Japan. I have been searching for some new up and coming producers that will keep the torch burning. To name a few KeenHouse, Lazrtag, Killed by Synth, Dan Sena, On Off On, Synthamatic, After Midnight, Whiskey Pete and Bobby Bustle have really caught my attention lately. All of these acts really put on an incredible show. High energy teamed up with great production! No one really should sleep on these guys.

The proof is in the puddin!

Peep my 1st Los Angeles Artist review of Bobby Bustle.

After seeing Bobby Bustle tear it up right before Chuck Inglish of
The Cool Kids last Saturday @ TILT, I was convinced. With HARD
hitting beats, smoothed out synths, and lyrics that stick in your
mind, Bobby Bustle came correct. I’m proud to share these
exclusive UNRELEASED TRACKS with everyone. These are
the same awesome tracks that had the whole room jumpin!
Straight SOLID!

Peep these DJ FRIENDLY ORIGINAL TRACKS!
You can’t deny the MAD STEEEZ!

and be sure to stop by his Myspace and give him some L.O.V.E.

The Dancefloor is our Mother. Her heart beats at 125 BPM.

mixed tape 18 June 2008 | Comments Off

Are we a now a generation of mother-less bastards?

It has been theorized that human response to music is rooted in an affinity we develop towards our mother’s heartbeats during early infancy. Does much modern dance music, with its pounding beats, not resemble the rhythms of our mother’s hearts?

Could this be the reason we retreat to the darkness of the city night clubs and raves? Do we feel that we lack the intimacy of our earth-bound mothers? Does a 125 BPM heart not soothe our loneliness and bring us closer to the bosom of our collective mother? Does the dark and warm dancefloor, pulsating with the rhythms of an amplified heart, not resemble the womb from which we were all violently expelled from at birth? Does this yearning for our mother and return to the womb mean we refuse to “grow up?”

How Freudian. No?
